Mondo Muse Bag Making Course
4 Sessions · Brunswick · Evenings from 6pm
All materials, tools and equipment provided. The pattern is yours to keep.
Design, make, and take home a fully custom Mondo Muse messenger bag, built by you from real upcycled outdoor gear.
Join us at IntoCarry's studio in Brunswick for a hands-on bag making workshop where you'll learn the foundations of sewing and pattern construction, no experience required. Over 12 practical hours, our experienced makers will guide you step-by-step as you design and construct a functional, one-of-a-kind crossbody bag from diverted textile waste.
Every bag you make keeps an average of [x] metres of outdoor gear out of landfill. No two bags will ever look the same — because no two pieces of rescued fabric are the same.
What To Expect
Everyone makes and takes home a custom messenger bag.
-
Session 1 - Get set up on the machine and learn the basics. You'll make the internal pocket, install the buckles and webbing, and finish the liner. By the end of night one you'll have a complete bag interior. Remember to bring your small daily accessories so you can customise the pocket to suit your gear
-
Session 2&3 - Cut and customise the bags exterior from reclaimed materials. Build the exterior pockets and learn to bind edges on a domestic and industrial sewing machine. By the end of these sessions you'll have customised and connected all the key parts of the bag.
-
Session 4 - Finish the bags accessories. Build and attach the shoulder pad, attach it to the shoulder straps, and add all the final buckles and friction locks. Snip, burn, done.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need any experience?
None at all. We start from zero and meet you where you're at. If you've done some sewing before you won't be stuck going over things you already know.
Do I need to bring anything?
Nope. Everything is included. Materials, tools, machinery, hardware, all of it.
What if I don't finish in time?
99% of people finish. We designed the course with enough time built in, including a buffer. If you're doing something extra ambitious and don't quite get there, the bag is designed to be finished at home on a standard domestic machine.
What if I can't make one of the nights?
Life happens. If something comes up unexpectedly, get in touch and we'll find a way to fit you into another session. If you already know a date doesn't work, it's worth booking a different intake from the start.
Where is it & What time is class?
8 Duckett St, Brunswick. Four consecutive weeknights, 6pm to 9pm. Free parking after 6:30pm on most surrounding streets.
Is food included?
No, we'd recommend eating beforehand.
