How it works

Built for anyone, beginners included.

Our courses are made up of people at all skill levels with one thing in common. They're willing to give it a crack. Small groups of 6 mean you get real guidance, not a classroom.

You'll be sewing by night one.

We start where you're at. Never touched a machine, or just a bit rusty. Either way, you'll be cutting and stitching before the first night's out.

Walk away with more than a bag.

You'll get a one of a kind bag made from reclaimed outdoor gear. The skills to pick up any pattern and make it at home. And most people leave already planning their next one.

Session 2 & 3

Cut and shape the outer panels from reclaimed materials. You'll customise your bag, build the front pocket, bind edges on the industrial walking foot, and laminate the inner and outer together.

Session 4

Finish the bag. Square the corners, bind the sides, build and attach the shoulder pad, fit the slide lock and straps, and attach the front buckles. Snip, burn, done.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need any experience?

None at all. We start from zero and meet you where you're at. If you've done some sewing before you won't be stuck going over things you already know.

Do I need to bring anything?

Nope. Everything is included. Materials, tools, machinery, hardware, all of it.

What if I don't finish in time?

99% of people finish. We designed the course with enough time built in, including a buffer. If you're doing something extra ambitious and don't quite get there, the bag is designed to be finished at home on a standard domestic machine.

What if I can't make one of the nights?

Life happens. If something comes up unexpectedly, get in touch and we'll find a way to fit you into another session. If you already know a date doesn't work, it's worth booking a different intake from the start.

Where is it & What time is class?

8 Duckett St, Brunswick. Four consecutive weeknights, 6pm to 9pm. Free parking after 6:30pm on most surrounding streets.

Is food included?

No, we'd recommend eating beforehand.

Still here? That's your answer.

Four nights. One bag. A skill you'll keep using.
