Designing the a chalk bag to be one stop shop for the casual weekday boulderer meant asking lots of questions and choosing just a few of the best answers.
- What does one take to the gym?
- What does one need at the wall that they don't currently?
- How big should a chalk bag be?
- Do you really need your phone with you at all times?
In answering these questions, we make a ton of prototypes, climbed mountains in the gym, and roped our friends into being product testers.
The culmination of wipwrk's first 3 months is the Barrel. We shoved as many pockets in to it as we could, and wrapped the bottom in seatbelt webbing to give it a still lower lip. I was dead against pocket flaps (they take too long to make) until seeing just how much chalks dust can get everywhere.
